Dialogue & Friendship Awards

Every year, Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue is giving Dialogue & Friendship Awards to individuals and organizations who have contributed their time, energy, leadership, and dedication to the cause of dialogue, peace, tolerance, community service and understanding in Arizona.
 
Jannah Scott, who served Arizona for many years and now the Deputy Director at Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, US Department of Homeland Security was the first recipient of "Interfaith Leadership Award" on Thursday, October 15th in Tucson at 6th Dialogue & Friendship Dinner.

 
 Paul Eppinger, who has been on numerous boards and committees in Arizona and its diverse community as a pastor, an Executive director, and a leader since 1985 is the recipient of "Interfaith Leadership Award" from Phoenix, AZ. He served as the Statewide Director of the successful “Victory Together” campaign to establish a state Martin Luther King holiday. Currently, he is the founder and the Executive Director of the Arizona Interfaith Movement, which is composed of 24 different major religious groups and seeks to bring understanding of each other to all the major religions of the state.
 
David Lujan, who dedicated his career to public service, defending the common sense, finding reasonable solutions to make Arizona strong, safe and secure for the future is the recipient of “Public Service Award” from Phoenix, AZ. His focus is on education and serves as the President of the Phoenix Union High School District Governing Board. He was the attorney for school construction program, which was the first of its kind in the country where the State of Arizona built and renovated hundreds of schools on time and on budget. During the economic crisis he discussed how the state can continue funding public education. Moreover, he is the staff attorney for the non-profit organization, Defenders of Children, which provides legal services to help children who are victims of abuse.
