"Be so tolerant that your bosom becomes wide like the ocean. Become inspired with faith and love of human beings. Let there be no troubled souls to whom you do not offer a hand, and about whom you remain unconcerned."
M. Fethullah Gulen

About Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue (FID)

The Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue (FID) is an independent and non-profit organization established in 2004 by a group of Arizonans, including engineers, educators, and students. As the name implies, our primary goal is to promote dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation among different cultures and faiths make up our society. Even though the founders of FID are mostly Turkish Americans, everyone who shares the same passion is very much welcome to join us. FID is currently standing up with the financial support of our members and donations from the gracious members of our community. All of our staff are volunteers who are excited with the idea of inter-cultural dialogue.

We believe that, ignorance and lack of communication are main causes of intolerance. The most effective way to overcome this barrier is to share our values. Hence, FID stresses education as the first step to inter-cultural dialogue. To realize this first step, we provide community with interaction opportunities in the form of conferences, panels, and art performances. In addition, we invite important figures to make presentations and speeches about inter-cultural dialogue, tolerance, and common grounds between community members.
